Georgetown had never seen anything like The Summit at Rivery Park before Novak Brothers came along.

Now, as mixed-use projects proliferate in the far-flung suburbs of Austin, The Summit seems like a model others will follow. The project is the Master-Planned Community of the Year in the 2021 Residential Real Estate Awards.

Construction is progressing on the final phase of the development, a 246-unit apartment complex called Summit Lofts, and is expected to be complete by the end of the year. It already has a four-star Sheraton Hotel, 121 Brownstone homes, hundreds of apartments, tens of thousands of square feet of retail space and a courtyard that hosts events like yoga and live music. Novak Brothers purchased the 32 acres for The Summit, on a hill overlooking the San Gabriel River, in late 2011, and construction began in 2015.

The Summit is Georgetown, Texas’ first high-end, mixed-use development, set on 32 acres overlooking the North San Gabriel River near IH-35.
