Galveston is entering a new era with Sachs on the Seawall, a $540 million development led by Mohamed Eldawy of Royal Crown Investments, LLC, with architecture by Steven Biegel, AIA, of PLACE Designers. Phase 1 is underway, bringing a 216-room Marriott Renaissance Hotel, 150 luxury condominiums, 236 apartments, 70,000 square feet of retail and dining, and four acres of public green space, complemented by restaurants like La Madeleine French Bistro and Floyd’s Cajun. Beyond reshaping the skyline, the project is expected to generate more than 2,300 jobs and about $100,000 per month in hotel occupancy taxes, funding improvements to infrastructure, recreation, and historic preservation. Together with projects like Tiara on the Beach and Solarus, Sachs on the Seawall reflects a bold vision to strengthen Galveston’s economy, elevate its hospitality and housing markets, and preserve the island’s iconic character while preparing it for a vibrant, world-class future.
