A major mixed-use development, Sachs on the Seawall, is currently under review before the Galveston Planning and Zoning Commission. If approved, the project by Royal Crown Investments, with architecture by Steven Biegel and PLACE Designers, would include a 216-room Marriott Renaissance hotel, 150 luxury condominiums, and 236 apartments. It would also feature 70,000 square feet of retail and dining, plus four acres of public green space. Anticipated to generate over 2,300 jobs, the project could break ground as soon as December 2026, with its first phase expected to be completed in 2029.
