A landmark mixed-use development is on the horizon for Bastrop’s west side, poised to include a full-service hospital, a connected hotel and convention center, and supporting entertainment, retail, and amenity space. Strategically located just east of Austin, Bastrop has already seen momentum with other large-scale projects — including a nearby 75-acre mixed-use “Sendero” development that alone is expected to deliver hundreds of residences, hospitality, retail, medical office, and entertainment components by 2030. The new hospital-hotel-convention vision dovetails with a broader wave of investment reshaping Bastrop into a regional hub for healthcare, lodging, visitors, and innovation.
